Sixth history video covers creation of the diocese, support for troops, diplomas for boys

Our sixth video recounting the 150 years that the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph have served at Maple Mount encompasses the years of 1936-49. Those years featured the creation of the Diocese of Owensboro, a new leader elected in Mother Laurine Sheeran — pictured above on the right, with her Council in 1943 — and how the Sisters and students at the Mount supported the troops during World War II. There were even some Mount Saint Joseph Academy diplomas for boys.
