Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center is a nonprofit organization devoted to offering and hosting quality programs at affordable prices. It was established in 1983 as a ministry of the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, utilizing the buildings of the former Mount Saint Joseph Academy.
In 1989, Bishop John McRaith named the Retreat Center the Spiritual Life Office for the Diocese of Owensboro. He entrusted the ongoing faith formation of the people of the diocese to the expertise that the Ursuline Sisters and staff of the Retreat Center can provide.
Unfortunately, the majority of the Retreat Center is housed in buildings that are more than 100 years old. The deterioration of the bricks and foundation of the building has made it unsafe for the public to use. On July 9, 2021, the Ursuline Sisters voted to deconstruct the Retreat Center building.
