Furniture Sale at the Mount!

If you have a love for furniture that was built “in the good ol’ days,” come to Maple Mount on Saturday, March 3, 2018, for a sale by the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph.

Everything from an antique china cabinet and matching buffet table, to desks of various sizes that were used by the Ursuline Sisters years ago will be for sale this one day only. Be at the Maple Mount gymnasium, 8001 Cummings Road, between 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 3 to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Some of the items came from St. Angela Hall, which was built in 1913, but is no longer in use. Other items came from various Ursuline Sisters’ homes or were donated to the sisters.

Among the items for sale are a dropleaf table, sewing machine table, dining room tables and chairs, cabinets, trunks, dressers and chests. There are book cases, filing cabinets, accent tables, pedestals, TVs, recliners, and even a massage table. Lift chairs in working condition will also be for sale.

You can pay with cash, check or credit card, but you must be in Maple Mount on March 3, and you must be ready to take your items with you that day.

If this furniture could talk, what a story it could tell! Make sure you don’t miss this opportunity.

My aunt is Sr Mary David Thomas. Shortly before her death, she asked to have her grandfathers desk to put in her room so as to enjoy looking at it and remember the good ole days. My brothers granted her wish and brought it to her.
When she passed, our family decided to donate the desk to the Mount. Very pretty piece of furniture.
With this auction you’re hosting in March, I have concerns about that desk. I never saw it pictured, thank goodness, as I really don’t want that piece sold. If the desk is not wanted or in the way, my family can make arrangements to pick it up. Thank you for your time.

      Hi, Rita!

Sorry I am just now responding but the desk is not going to be sold! It is actually in Paul Volk Hall in the Grand Room being used by the Sisters! It is a great piece for them to have! Thank you for donating it 🙂

Will the items be auctioned off by an auctioneer or prices marked on each piece?
BTW…I was taught by the Ursuline Sisters for 12 years and I have fond memories of the nuns.
    Tks.

      Hi, Merle!
There will be prices marked on each piece. Everything will be priced to sell! I’m so glad you have great memories. The Ursuline Sisters of MSJ are a special group of women!

I was taught by the Ursuline Sisters for 12 years and I have fond memories of the nuns. The schools I attended were Raywick School at Raywick, KY and St. Charles High School at St. Mary’s, KY

I’m interested in the sewing machine, chest of drawers, small odd tables, odd straight chairs.

Wouldn’t mind having my old desk, but cannot make it to the sale. Wishing you great success on Saturday. We are moving to the Motherhouse next week. Please keep us in your prayers. Pray for nice weather, too! Love and hugs to all!
