Associates and Sisters learn about Franciscan spirituality together

More than 50 Ursuline Sisters and Associates met for social interaction as well as listening and learning during Associates and Sisters Day on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Maple Hall in Mount Saint Joseph. Some Associates came from Kansas, Indiana and Missouri while others visited from various places in Kentucky. Franciscan spirituality originating from Saint Francis of Assisi was the focus of an interesting presentation by Friar Ken Bartsch of Mount Saint Francis, Indiana. This was followed by a panel of Ursuline Sisters explaining how the congregation implemented Laudato Si, Pope Francis’ encyclical on care for the environment and our common home. Prayer, table discussions, trivia, and In Memoriam and Happy Faces videos were also part of the annual gathering.

Here are some photos from the day.
