Alumnae reunion travels to graduates in assisted living

Stephanie Warren visits her mother Rose Warren regularly at the Carmel Home, an assisted living facility in Owensboro operated by the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus. Stephanie has served as president of the Alumnae Association for Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Junior College for numerous years and began noticing how many alums of the Academy were now living in the Carmel Home.

That gave her an idea.

“These women all love the Mount, but they can no longer travel to attend our Alumnae Weekend,” Stephanie said. “We decided to take the reunion to them.”

The theme for Alumnae Weekend on Aug. 23-24, 2025, was “Woodstock – Peace, Love, and Unity.” Stephanie and Sue Batman created a cardboard, tie-dyed VW bus for pictures, which was used during the opening night reception. They brought the bus to the Carmel Home Activity room on Aug. 28 to let the alumnae there have their turn. They also provided goody bags for each of the women, some of whom were joined by their daughters or friends.
