St. Patrick’s Day 2014

Perhaps it was the corned beef and cabbage for lunch, but the Ursuline Sisters at the Motherhouse in Maple Mount were in a good mood to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on May 17, filling the Rainbow Room in Saint Joseph Villa for a 2:30 p.m. shindig.

Treated to shamrock-shaped cookies and green punch, the luck o’ the Irish was in full bloom as Debbie Dugger, coordinator of activities, led a discussion on the history of the holiday. Here are some photos from the day.

Love these pictures! At first I thought those cups of green were Jello shots. Maybe they were??!!!! A special hello to Sister Lou, Sister Marie, and of course my aunt, Sister Michael Ann, who I was named after. So many wonderful spirits in these pictures whom I hope to see this summer.

I remember the Sisters used to have cake walks at St. Mary’s grade school and Lourdes H.S. in Nebraska City.

Wonderful pictures! Such a good service to let us “outsiders” get glimpses of our Sisters and the activities of a place so alive.
