The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph once again urge their Associates and supporters to join them in days of prayer, advocacy, and fasting as a “response to these times” in our country.

From May 29 to Sept. 5, 2025, 140 member communities of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious responded to the call to set aside days of prayer, fasting, and advocacy. The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph chose three days that were significant to them:

• June 26, International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, for immigrants/migrants, survivors of torture, displaced and deported persons, those experiencing loss of due process protections;
• July 26, Feast of Saints Joachim and Anne, for vulnerable populations such as those who are elderly, have disabilities, are homeless or live in substandard housing; and
• August 12, International Youth Day, for all programs supporting children and youth.

“Based on feedback and the impactful results, LCWR sponsors the next 100 Days of prayer, advocacy, and fasting from October 1, 2025 – January 11, 2026,” according to the LCWR website.

The Ursuline Sisters are once again choosing three days that are significant to the community, and are asking their Associates and supporters to join in. This time, there will be no formal prayer. Participants are asked to find their own way to pray, fast and advocate to improve the injustices in our country.

The upcoming days of prayer, fasting, and advocacy are:

• Tuesday, October 21, the Feast of Saint Ursula. Saint Angela Merici named her Company of women after Saint Ursula, a martyr of the early church. She is the patron saint of Catholic education, students, and teachers.
• Tuesday, November 25, the Feast of Saint Catherine of Alexandria. It was on this day in 1535 that Saint Angela founded the Company of Saint Ursula, honoring another martyr who refused to renounce her faith. It is also the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
• Thursday, December 18, United Nations International Migrants Day, which shines a spotlight on the invaluable contributions of millions of migrants around the world.
