Coronavirus Precautions at Mount Saint Joseph

The following is a message from Ursuline Sister Amelia Stenger, congregational leader:

The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph are praying for you and all who are being affected by the Coronavirus.

We offer hospitality in so many ways to people who come to our Motherhouse, but out of concern for the health and safety of all who live and work here we are taking the following steps to protect our Sisters and staff.

Given the rapidly evolving health risks associated with COVID-19, general public access to the Motherhouse has been suspended to all areas including the St. Joseph Villa and the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center.

  • Mass at the Motherhouse Chapel is closed to the public until further notice.
  • Retreat Center programs are canceled or being rescheduled.
  • The Come and Be weekend at the Motherhouse has been canceled.

Those delivering supplies will have a special protocol that they will follow.

These restrictions begin on March 13, 2020, and will remain in place until further notice.  We truly hope that you understand.  Our Sisters are precious and many of them are in the most susceptible age group.

There are no current cases of COVID-19 within the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph. The decision to suspend access to the buildings was made out of an abundance of caution, especially among our vulnerable population. We look forward to the time when we can welcome you back to visit with the Sisters.

Please pray for us. We will be praying for you.
