Sister Amelia Stenger picked a bucket of cherries June 9 from the trees growing on the grounds of Mount Saint Joseph and several of the sisters at the Motherhouse came together June 10 to pit them, along with other cherries already picked, so Sister Grace Swift could make them into jams and jellies. Those sour cherries make the very best preserves, cobblers, Everything! I really didn’t like picking and pitting them, and the juice running down your arms. Ha ha. But they are “the Best”!! Enjoy the fruits of your labors!
I see Ruth’s bowl is empty. Is that cherry juice I see on her lips?
