The Ursuline Sisters in Saint Joseph Villa celebrated Valentine’s Day early on Feb. 13, 2025, with treats and door prizes, then received a visit from Brescia University students who made them personalized Valentine cards.
Four of the nine members of Brescia’s National Student Speech Language Hearing Association club brought Valentines for all the Sisters who live at Maple Mount.
“Our club wanted to do a volunteer project to make Valentine cards,” said Emma Wiles, a senior at Brescia. “We thought, ‘who better to give them to than people who helped make Brescia what it is?’”
Brescia is celebrating its Centennial this year, with added focus on its beginnings as the Mount Saint Joseph Junior College for Women in 1925.
The members of the group are all training to become either speech language pathologists or audiologists. They began working on the cards more than four months ago, Wiles said.
“We hope to do this every year now,” she said.
Fellow senior Linda Canales told the Sisters, “We’re glad to spread some joy here today, you all deserve it.”
Here are some photos from the day.
