Associates and Sisters Day 2019

Associates and Sisters Day 2019 brought a wonderful amount of sharing and reflection about ministering to others and how we share “love in action.” The all-day event on June 22 included welcoming three new Ursuline Associates who made their commitments. Here are photos from the day.

Father Joe Merkt facilitated the morning session discussing the ministerial portion of his four-part retreat day titled “Exploring Personal Growth in the Spirit of Saint Angela Merici.” In 2018 he led discussion on Ursuline spirituality.
There was much time for one-on-one and group discussion during the morning session. The previous and current directors or coordinators of the Ursuline Associate program gathered for a photo after the commitment ceremony. The two panelists for the afternoon were Nanette “Nettie” Foley, left, of Cleveland, Mo., and Tina Wolken of Owensboro, Ky. They spoke on “How does your daily life call you to act with love?”
The day concluded with Mass, celebrated by Father Joe Merkt. Sister Mary Henning, left, and Sister Catherine Marie Lauterwasser were the musicians for Mass.
Associate Pauline Goebel proclaimed the first reading.
Associate Karen Wells was the second reader for Mass.
Sister Ruth Gehres read the intercessions.
