Ursulines celebrate 13 jubilarian Sisters at special Mass and meal

The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph celebrated 13 of their Sisters who are commemorating significant anniversaries of religious life in 2023.

Gathering in the Motherhouse Chapel on July 15, the Sisters — who combined have served God’s people for 895 years — were honored during a beautiful Mass, then enjoyed an extra special meal with the rest of the community, who were at Maple Mount for Community Days.

Here are the Sisters celebrating jubilees this year.

The total jubilee class of 2023 is, seated from left, Sister Clarita Browning, 75 years; Sister Mary Gerald Payne, 70 years; Sister Catherine Barber, 70 years; Sister Naomi Aull, 80 years; Sister Marie Bosco Wathen, 80 years; Sister Grace Swift, 75 years; standing from left are Sister Jacinta Powers, 50 years; Sister Luisa Bickett, 75 years; Sister Paul Marie Greenwell, 70 years; Sister Margaret Ann Aull, 70 years; Sister Kathleen Dueber, 60 years; Sister Pat Rhoten, 60 years; and Sister Mary Celine Weidenbenner, 60 years.

Sister Jacinta Powers is the lone member of the 50-year class, joining the Ursulines in 1973.

    These 13 women of God with their 895 years of service to the People of God are outstanding. You Ursuline Sisters have made a meaningful difference in the lives of too many to mention. Congratulations on your Jubilee!
