First-graders learn about nature

The Mount welcomed 66 first-graders from Tamarack Elementary School in Owensboro, Ky., on May 12 to learn about the stewardship of the earth from Ursuline Sister Amelia Stenger. Donna Howard, one of the first-grade teachers at the school, brought fourth-grade students a few years ago, and said she knew Sister Amelia does a great job talking about caring for the environment. Howard’s mother went to Mount Saint Joseph Academy, and her aunt is Sister Pauletta McCarty.
