Sister Mary Albert O’Bryan

MAPLE MOUNT, Ky. – Sister Mary Albert O’Bryan, 79, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Mount Saint Joseph in her 41st year of religious life. She was a native of St. Francis, Ky. Sister Mary Albert was principal and teacher at St. Mary Magdalene School, Sorgho (1969-73), and St. Romuald High School, Hardinsburg, 1973-76. She served as principal and teacher of St. Romuald Elementary School, 1976-77.

She also taught and served in outreach ministry in the Archdiocese of Louisville, was teacher, principal, and outreach minister in the Diocese of Owensboro, and taught in Nebraska. From 1992-95, she served in outreach ministry at Mercy Hospital, Owensboro. She served in many areas at the Motherhouse at Mount Saint Joseph, including food service and the business office, and as director of transportation and assistant local coordinator. She was receptionist for Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center from 1999 until her retirement in 2003. She is survived by the members of her religious community.

The funeral Mass was Saturday, July 19, at Mount Saint Joseph, with burial in the convent cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home, Owensboro, was in charge of arrangements.
