During Catholic Schools Week in Owensboro, Ky., the third-grade class taught by Nelda Flahardy at the Owensboro Catholic Schools K-3 Campus decided to write cards to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph. On Feb. 21, the class was in charge of the weekly Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes, with intentions for the Ursuline Sisters, so 11 of the sisters attended the Mass.
Among the sisters in attendance were Sisters Joseph Angela Boone, Emma Cecilia Busam, Mary Sheila Higdon, Clarita Browning, Marie Montgomery, Nancy Murphy, Mary Eileen Howard, Catherine Barber, Mary Irene Cecil, Martha Keller and Elaine Burke. Sister Mary Timothy Bland was also there, she teaches second grade at the school.
“We are so thrilled to have you here and we appreciate your dedication to the Church,” Principal Lori Whitehouse told the Ursuline Sisters before Mass.
