The daughter of Julius and Theresa Allgeier Brohm, Rosamond was born October 12, 1906, in Jeffersontown, Ky., one of five children. She received her elementary education at St. Edward’s in her hometown. She attended Mercy Academy in Louisville for high school.
Rosamond entered the novitiate at Mount Saint Joseph on September 8, 1922. Six months later, she received the Ursuline habit and the name Sister Victoria.
While in the novitiate, Sister Victoria began teaching grades one through four at St. Mary Magdalene School in Sorgho, Ky. Later years found her teaching in both public and parochial elementary and secondary schools in Kentucky, including Knottsville, Raywick, Rome, Calvary, Earlington, Shively, Buechel, Owensboro (St. Stephen), and Mount Saint Joseph Academy. She served as the principal and superior at Seven Holy Founders in Affton, Mo. She also taught at St. Bernard Academy, Nebraska City, Neb.
In 1946, Sister Victoria was elected to the Leadership Council as Mother Zelatrice. She was elected Mother Assistant in 1949. Following those two terms in community leadership, she continued teaching until 1975. She accepted the invitation to initiate an outreach program for the sick and homebound for St. Bartholomew Parish in Buechel. Due to major injuries received in a car accident in December 1976, she came to the Motherhouse infirmary to recuperate. Upon dismissal from the infirmary, she became the curator of the Mount Saint Joseph Museum. She spent 1980-1981 at St. Denis Convent in Shively. She returned to the Mount again serving as curator of the museum, before retiring in 1988.
Sister Victoria died January 20, 1992. On January 23, Msgr. Bernard Powers and five other priests concelebrated the funeral Mass in St. Alphonsus Church, followed by burial in Mount Saint Joseph cemetery. Many family members, friends and former students were present for the ceremonies.
The chapel at Mount Saint Joseph underwent major renovation between July 1991 and July 1992. Funerals were held at St. Alphonsus Church, St. Joseph, Kentucky.
