The daughter of William and Marietta Mills Fenwick, Mary was born in Uniontown, Ky., on February 2, 1894. In 1914, at age 20, she entered the novitiate at Mount Saint Joseph. Mary received the Ursuline habit on August 10, 1915, and the name Sister Marietta.

Sister Marietta, prepared for the teaching apostolate, was missioned first to St. Bernard School in Clementsville, Ky., for four months and then assigned to the Ursuline schools in Kentucky at Holy Cross, St. Mary, Fredericktown, Philpot (two separate assignments), Earlington, Fancy Farm, Mount Saint Joseph, Axtel and Stanley. She also served in Waterflow, N.M. 

Due to ill health, Sister Marietta returned to Mount Saint Joseph in 1949. Sister died on November 26, 1953. Msgr. Gilbert Henninger, chaplain, celebrated the funeral Mass. Sister Marietta’s remains are buried in the convent cemetery.
