Evening with an Ursuline July 5, 2016

Jesus gave us a blueprint for how to live a happy life with the Beatitudes, detailed in the Gospel of Matthew 5: 3-10. “Beatitude people recognize the need to change,” said Ursuline Sister Mary Matthias Ward. “The universe doesn’t revolve around us. We are called to serve.”

Sister Mary Matthias, the new director of the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center, was the featured speaker for an “Evening with an Ursuline” on July 5, speaking on “Beatitudes: Blueprint for Life” in Conference Room B of the Center. She called the Beatitudes “steps of a ladder” that will allow God to accomplish much in our lives if we allow God to do so.

The next “Evening with an Ursuline” is Aug. 2, with Sister Ruth Gehres discussing “The Gift of Forgiveness.” Dinner is at 5 p.m. with the presentation to follow. Here are some photos from the July 5 evening.
