The Mount Saint Joseph employee Christmas party was held in the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center dining room on Dec. 15, 2012. Normally the party is held in the gymnasium, but since the heat was not expected to be working that weekend in the gym, the party was moved.
The dining room was full of employees and their guests, and many Ursuline Sisters who minister in staff positions at the Motherhouse. Sister Rita Scott, a member of the Council, said the opening prayer. Guests lined up for appetizers, followed by a chopped mutton and ham buffet dinner from Moonlite BBQ and Old Hickory BBQ.
Tickets were given to staff to place in various bags to try to win door prizes. The tables were decorated with Charlie Brown Christmas trees. Some of the group had a White Elephant gift exchange in an adjoining room, while the rest played bingo. Pins and checks were given to employees who had been at the Mount for 5, 10, 15, and 20 years. Names were also drawn for a few cash prizes.
