Deconstruction begins on Paul Volk Hall, former Sisters’ residence

Deconstruction of Paul Volk Hall began on Monday, July 10, 2023, after weeks of preparing new utility lines so that Sisters on campus would not lose service.

Paul Volk Hall was built in 1981 as additional housing for Sisters and for offices on the first floor. The building had significant plumbing issues and other problems, and was no longer needed for housing. The same company that deconstructed the former Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Retreat Center is doing this work, as part of the same contract.

Here are some pictures from the first day, which consisted mostly of stripping bricks from the concrete building.
