The Council of Religious Steering Committee consists of, left to right, Ursuline Sister Nancy Murphy, Glenmary Sister Darlene Presley, School Sister of Notre Dame Jeannette Fennewald, and Ursuline Sister Nancy Liddy. This group helped plan the annual gathering.
Nearly 40 women religious from five different congregations in the Diocese of Owensboro met at Mount Saint Joseph, Maple Mount, Ky., on April 23, 2022. The afternoon event included prayer and lunch in the Motherhouse dining room, as well as bingo with plenty of prizes. The Council of Religious consists of women religious who serve in the diocese. The group had been unable to meet since April 2019 due to the coronavirus pandemic, so this was an especially joyful meeting.
After bingo, the group played a birthday game to choose a lucky winner of an angel food cake with strawberries. Ursuline Sister Marie Joseph Coomes was the last Sister standing with a May birthday.
