Alumnae return to the Mount for visit

Mary Jo Hardesty Roberts A’53 of Louisville, third from right, visited Mount Saint Joseph June 10, 2011. A former Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, she was known as Sister Mary Francine Hardesty from the time she entered the novitiate in 1953 until 1962. Another classmate, Sister Paul Marie Greenwell, could not be present for the photo.

Accompanying Mary Jo on the visit were her sister, Jeanne Hardesty Allin A’44 of Greenville, R.I., who is also a former Ursuline Sister; her brother, Michael Hardesty of Louisville, and Jeanne’s granddaughter.

Mary Jo and Michael also visited Mount Saint Joseph in 2010 for the memorial service of their late sister, Jeanne Mary “Margie” Hardesty, who had requested that her ashes be buried in the Mount Saint Joseph cemetery. Jeanne Mary was a former Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph who entered the novitiate in 1945 and left the community after 26 years in 1971.
