The Owensboro Associate group held its second annual Advent Prayer service at 6 p.m. on Dec. 2, 2014 in the Brescia University Chapel, Owensboro, Ky. About 35 Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph and Ursuline Associates gathered to pray and sing for the start of the Advent season. Sister Pam Mueller, director of campus ministry at Brescia, welcomed everyone and served as the prayer leader.
This year’s event was special because it also included a commitment ceremony for Father Larry Hostetter, the president of Brescia. He was making his commitment as an Ursuline Associate, with help from his contact companion, Sister Sharon Sullivan, congregational leader for the Ursuline Sisters.
