Sister Joan Cook, SC, a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati, spoke to the Ursuline Sisters at the Motherhouse in Maple Mount on May 15 as the fourth and final speaker in a series focusing on the Year of Consecrated Life. Sister Joan has served as president of her community since 2011, and was previously a professorial lecturer in the theology department at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Sister Joan spoke in the St. Ursula Community Room on “The Art of the Annunciation.” She showed the sisters pictures of three paintings on the Annunciation and then challenged them to analyze each image. She said it was similar to Lectio Divina, except with using pictures instead of words.
