2017 Rainbow Mass

“This must be how Noah felt when he saw the rainbow in the sky,” said the Most Rev. William Medley, Bishop of the Diocese of Owensboro, as he looked across the Owensboro (Ky.) Sportscenter on Sept. 28, 2017.

The diocese celebrated its annual Rainbow Mass, a tradition for more than 30 years that brings together all 17 Catholic Schools in the diocese. St. Romuald School in Hardinsburg was on fall break this week, but a handful of people still came, which brought a round of applause the rest of the crowd.

“The different colors each school wears represent the rainbow of our faith,” said Ann Flaherty, superintendent of Catholic Schools, who welcomed everyone to the 10:30 a.m. Mass.

Here are some pictures from the day.
