Quilt Bingo brings lots of smiles and winners to Maple Mount

“Bingo!” was in the air on Sept. 10, 2023, as about 170 people joined with Ursuline Sisters and volunteers for Quilt Bingo at Maple Hall on the campus of Mount Saint Joseph. Participants played 31 rounds of bingo for a chance to win a quilt. More than 100 quilts were on display of various sizes, and duplicate winners all got to pick out a quilt.

Participants enjoyed lunch catered by Ole South Barbecue, Owensboro. Many purchased Mount Raffle tickets before the drawing occurred at the end of the event at 4 p.m., with three cash prizes and another beautiful quilt given away. See the winners here. Many others purchased half pot tickets, and the lucky winner split the proceeds with the Ursuline Sisters. Most importantly, everyone had a fun day, and helped support the retired Ursuline Sisters and the ministries of the community.

About 170 people joined Ursuline Sisters, staff and volunteers for the Ursuline Sisters’ third Quilt Bingo. The event also took place in 2019 and 2022.
Attendees enjoy getting a plate of pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, rolls, cornbread, cookies, and drinks for lunch.

Participants keep an eye on their bingo cards as they play one of 31 games for a chance to win their choice of a variety of quilts.
More than 100 quilts were on display on the walls and tables in Maple Hall prior to the start of Quilt Bingo. Several handmade shawls were also available. The remaining quilts and shawls will be available for sale this fall.

    I wanted to come to the Quilt Bingo, but my grandbaby from Louisville came to visit. Next year I am coming!! How does a quilt winner decide on a quilt!!??? The beauty and variety of the quilts were stunning.
