Contemporary Woman Program Celebrates 50 Years

Morek S Michele editrev (3)Owensboro, KY – Mark your calendars to join Brescia University to celebrate the Contemporary Woman’s 50th anniversary on April 4th at 7 pm with a presentation about women’s status around the globe. Sr. Michele Morek ’66, OSU, Coalition Coordinator at UNANIMA International in Manhattan, will be the special speaker. UNANIMA International is a non-governmental organization which advocates for women, children, immigrants, refugees, and the environment.

The title of Sr. Michele’s presentation is “It’s a Woman’s World –?” This presentation will be free and open to the public and takes place in Taylor Lecture Hall in the Science Building.

Sr. Michele has been a professor of Biology, academic dean and vice president of academic affairs, and chair of the Division of Math and Natural Sciences at Brescia University. She also has served numerous roles with the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph and then as its Congregational Leader from 2004 to 2010. In addition, she has served in many environmental and local citizens groups in the Owensboro area before accepting her position as Coalition Coordinator at UNANIMA in 2012.

Donations will be accepted that evening to assist in funding the Contemporary Woman Program Endowed Chair.
