1. Jim Hudzik

    Dear Sister Grace,

I was a student in your history class as a freshman at Bishop Miege in 1961-1962. I have fond memories of you, Sr. deLourdes, Sr. Georgetta, Sr. Pauline, Mr. Byard, and the other fine teachers I had during my two years at Miege. I recall you asking me if I was from New York, as I didn’t have the usual Kansas City twang. (I spent my first twelve years in Chicago.) We returned to Illinois in 1963, where I did my last two years at Marian Catholic HS in Chicago Heights with the Springfield Dominican sisters. I was privileged to teach math and chemistry for ten years at Marian — my second career. Not many sisters left these days. I want to thank you, along with my father, for instilling in me my life-long love of history. My house is full of histories and biographies. Too many are as yet unread, but I’m working on it.

    I hope you are well.

Jim Hudzik, Bishop Miege ex ’65
