So sorry to hear of Sr. Michael Marie’s passing. I didn’t know her well, but I do know that she was a worthy successor to my dad, James H. Brown, as principal of St. James School in Elizabethtown. He passed away June 1 of this year. Sr. Michael Marie was beloved. I know she was heartbroken about being run out of the parish by St. James’s former pastor, Fr. Martin Linebach, to make way for the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia. St. James School hasn’t been the same since. Sr. Michael Marie will certainly be missed by those who knew and loved her. My condolences to her fellow sisters and others she leaves behind. 💝

I am so sad to learn of Sister Michael Marie’s death. I knew her from St. Mary in Paducah. She was a wonderful soul and loved by all. Fly high Michael Marie! May she rest in peace.

In our lives we meet some that come and go without truly affecting who we are. This was not the case here. She set the bar to reach for, and also helped you to believe in yourself enough to know you can reach that goal. That type individual lives on in every person she inspired! Her smile will be missed but not forgotten.

Rest in peace Sr Michael Marie. I had the privilege of living with her for 2 years at St. Romuald’s. She was so loved by all the kids in both the grade and high schools because she was always actievly involved in their lives. I remeber her many hours down in the Home Ec room cooking up something and attending every ballgame.
My nieces and nephews attendeed St James in E-town and they always told me that Sr Michael Marie was their favorite principal because she showed them how much she loved everyone of the fanilies of St James. She took a special interest in getting to know them.
I am the OTHER PATRICIA HOWELL in her life and will always remember her spirit of wiilingness to do anything to makeothers feel welcome and important.
Thank you Michael and may you enjory eternaly life with your God.

I am so sorry to hear of Sr. Michael’s death. I worked along side her in the FFY program at St Pius X in Calvet City and really enjoyed her company and advise. She was a dedicated teacher and a generous kind friend. May she rest in peace in the arms of her Jesus.

I am a member of the St. Mary High School class of 1985 and Sr. Michael Marie was our class advisor/counselor/advocate for our high school career. I am so saddened by this loss, as are the many classmates who’ve been texting memories since we heard this news. Rest in peace!

Rest in Peace, Sister Michael Marie. My mother, Margaret Polin, worked as RE director at St. James Church for years and built a close working relationship and friendship with Sister. My kids went 9 years each to St. James School and we all loved her. She helped kids to believe they could achieve anything and made them want to do it. She taught them to be Peace Builders and then held them to that standard. She was what made SJS the best school in our region. I absolutely hated to see her go. I’m glad she no longer has to deal with MS … she was such a strong woman.
