Sister Mary Celine Weidenbenner celebrates 60 years as a Sister

The third Ursuline Sister celebrating 60 years of religious life in 2023 is a consummate educator, Sister Mary Celine Weidenbenner, a native of Glennonville, Mo.

Sister Mary Celine is a naturally joyful, creative person, whose love for teaching and her students has made education a positive experience for 53 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Brescia College in 1967. She earned a master’s degree in education from Western Kentucky University in 1976.

All of her ministry has been in Kentucky. She was a teacher at St. Peter of Alcantara, Stanley (1967-71), Holy Cross School, Holy Cross (1971-73), Calvary School, Calvary (1973-76), St. Joseph, Mayfield (1985-89) and St. Mary Middle School, Paducah (1991-2006). She was principal of St. Alphonsus School, St. Joseph (1976-85). She served in a day care center at Precious Blood Day Care, Owensboro (2006-07). Since 2007 she has been a teacher at Mary Carrico Memorial School, Knottsville, Ky.

Sister Mary Celine also makes beautiful creations for the Ursuline Sisters’ Quilt Club.
