MAPLE MOUNT – Sister Dorothy Ann Whelan, 90, of Mount Saint Joseph died there Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003. The Howardstown native was an Ursuline Sister, an education for 55 years and taught at Immaculate Parish in Owensobor, St. Joseph in Leitchfield, St. Joseph in Mayfield and St. Anthony in Peonia. She taught in the Louisville archdiocese, retired to the Motherhouse in 1996 and had been Mount Saint Joseph Center librarian.
Survivors include a sister, Sister Mary Emily Whelan of Maple Mount; and several nephews and nieces.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mount Saint Joseph Chapel in Maple Mount. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today at the chapel. Wake services are at 6:30 p.m. today at the chapel. Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements.
