Sister Darlene Denton, OSU

Sister Darlene Denton, 63, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, died Sept. 5 at Mount Saint Joseph, in her 28th year of religious life. She was a native of Louisville, Ky.

Sister Darlene was a steadfast friend to many she ministered to, loyal and encouraging, and someone who led others to grow in their faith. Sister Darlene was a teacher at St. Romuald School in Hardinsburg, Ky., from 1982-83, then at St. Brigid School in Vine Grove, Ky., from 1984-87. She was principal at Sts. Simon and Jude School in Louisville from 1987-94. She was director of the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center from 1994-97, then was facilities director at the Bergamo Retreat Center in Dayton, Ohio, from 1997-98. She was a pastoral associate at St. Helen/Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Louisville from 1998 until retiring this year.

Survivors include her brother, Michael Edward Denton, his wife Becky, her nieces Laura and Tracey, all of Louisville, and the members of her religious community.

Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, Owensboro, was in charge of arrangements.
