An Easter Blessing

The Ursuline Sisters living in Saint Joseph Villa received an unexpected abundance on Easter Monday when about a dozen bags of gifts were delivered from a parish in Louisville, Ky.

Members of the Social Concerns Committee at St. Albert the Great Parish in Louisville had a Lenten giving tree for donations to several charities, one of which was the Ursuline Sisters, said Joe Blakely, who delivered the presents along with his wife Imogene on April 2, 2018. Mary Lynn Legel, niece of the late Ursuline Sister Rosalin Thieneman, is a member of the Social Concerns Committee at St. Albert the Great. Joe Blakely is a 1959 graduate of Brescia College, where he was taught by Ursuline Sisters. He and Imogene were coming to Owensboro to visit relatives, so volunteered to bring the donated items.

Parishioners took crosses off the tree and purchased personal items such as tissues, tooth brushes, word puzzles, soap, etc., along with gift cards to Walgreens and Walmart so staff can purchase items for the sisters. Here are a few pictures from the donation arrival.
