Holy Name School faculty and staff from Henderson, Ky., enjoy a scavenger hunt to wrap up their retreat day

Faculty and staff of Holy Name Catholic School in Henderson, Ky., came to Mount Saint Joseph on Aug. 4, 2017, for their retreat day before the start of the school year. They ended their day with a highly competitive scavenger hunt on the Mount grounds. Here are some photos of their fun.

Participants get their instructions before beginning the scavenger hunt. They were each given clues to eight places on campus in which their team had to take a selfie, and they also had to take a selfie with a cow and an Ursuline Sister.
The first clue was finding the Gossip Tree in front of the chapel. This team had some help from Ursuline Sister Laurita Spalding, second from left, who is a teacher at Holy Name.

Saint Angela Merici urged her sisters to “always be like a piazza,” and this team found the piazza right away.
It was a nice day, but traversing the campus from the Memory Garden on the west side to the cow pasture on the east was a little exhausting for this team.
The five pioneer Ursuline Sisters who came to Maple Mount in 1874 had their first meal of watermelon and buttermilk on the site of this commemorative stone.
The Memory Garden featuring a statue of Saint Joseph was the next stop for this team.
A two-for-one special as this team got their picture taken in front of St. Joseph Villa, and with Sister Monica Seaton, third from left.
In a competition, there’s no staying on the sidewalks.
Finding a tombstone with a team member’s name was the next clue, and being named “Marie” is always a safe bet in the Motherhouse cemetery.
This team makes their way back from their first cow selfie.
