The first “Friends and Fun at the Mount” on Jan. 29, 2020, was a hit, with 31 women in attendance. The event took place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. All of the visitors gathered in the dining room and brought their own games, craft projects or books. The Center provided lunch, snacks and door prizes. Janie Walther, who does community relations for the Retreat Center, organized the event. “It was a nice group and they had lots of fun,” she said. Most of the attendees were from Owensboro, but there were also groups at two tables from Henderson, Ky., and one person came from Bowling Green, Ky. The visitors also had the opportunity to go to the Mount Saint Joseph Gift Shop or take a guided tour of the Motherhouse Chapel.
