Join us Nov. 1-2 for a retreat on Jesus, peacemaking and Gospel nonviolence with Father John Dear, long time activist, author and Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Fr. John will reflect with us on the life of Jesus from the perspective of Gandhian/Kingian nonviolence; invite us to ponder our own nonviolence and how we can become more nonviolent; lead us to study Jesus’ basic teachings of nonviolence in the Sermon on the Mount; and conclude with stories about how the nonviolent Jesus sent people out into the culture of violence to be peacemakers, and how he is doing that with us. Join us to celebrate and renew our discipleship to Jesus the Peacemaker and deepen our own life journeys as peacemakers. We will have time for quiet prayer, input from Fr. John, small group and large group discussion, and coffee and lunch. Please come and together let’s recommit ourselves to following Jesus the Peacemaker and practicing Gospel nonviolence. This program will begin on Friday at 6:30 and go until Saturday at 4:30. The cost is $70 for commuters; $130 for single occupancy guests which includes lodging, meals and program; and $225 double occupancy which includes lodging, meals and program. Register for Jesus the Peacemaker
