Group Spiritual Direction: Telling our Most Life-Giving Story

Group Spiritual Direction: Telling our Most Life-Giving Story @ Online via Zoom
October 7, 2020 @ 10:00 am – October 28, 2020 @ 11:30 am
Online via Zoom

We are all born into a narrative. Some stories we are born into, some stories we are told, and some we tell ourselves. These stories shape our identity and become a powerful force in our lives. How aware are you of the stories you tell yourself?   Are you living an incomplete or limiting narrative that constricts your life?  In a small group community, we will participate in sacred storytelling, holding and honoring your individual stories into new life-giving narratives that support the life you want to live. Our sharing and listening will be guided by a new format developed by author, educator and spiritual director, Diane Millis, in her book, Recreating a Life: Learning How to Tell Our Most Life-Giving Story. Join us in this four-part series during the Wednesdays in October from 10-11:30 a.m.

    Hi Maryann,
This sounds like a wonderful opportunity for those of us walking a spiritual path.
I may be interested, for myself or a place to refer others.
But I need to know how interfaith you will be.

Thank you for your interest Linda. The spirituality of this retreat is grounded in the Christian experience and trust in the Paschal Mystery – and the place that suffering and surrender play in our lives. I include a brief example of St. Therese of Avila as a woman who suffered much physically -but I think anyone of a Christian faith would be comfortable with this retreat.

I’m sorry for the confusion – I was replying about a retreat on illness I am giving soon.

This group spiritual direction program should be comfortable for people of any faith, It is based on the practice of narrative circles, and depth of human sharing in a equitable and safe manner.
The book I am using to base our prompts for sharing as well as the process for sharing was rated highly on Spirituality and Practice website – a site for people of all faiths.
Feel free to contact my office with more questions.
