Cherished Christmas Carols with Sister Catherine Barber

Several of the Sisters chose “Silent Night” as their most “Cherished Christmas Carol,” but for different reasons. For Sister Catherine Barber, it brings back memories of her youth.

“My favorite Christmas Song is ‘Silent Night.’ The reason is that when we were 6 or 7 years old, our early Mass on Christmas morn was 5 a.m. We dressed as angels, having wings with glittering trim, golden crowns, etc. We marched into the darkened church with the crib all aglow singing ‘Silent Night.’ Christmas will always be memories of this occasion.”
