Casa Ursulina Welcomes Strong Enrollment

March and April always bring new excitement to Casa Ursulina, our Ursuline mission in Chillán, Chile. This year over 160 women enrolled in 14 courses, ranging from spinning, weaving, and various types of needlework, to cooking, oil painting, music, yoga, and English. In the photo above, Sister Mimi Ballard — Casa Ursulina’s founding director — welcomes the women to an outdoor orientation session. It’s outdoors because the Casa (house) isn’t big enough to hold everyone!

Casa Ursulina enrolls women of low income who come to learn or improve their skills and to be part of the active, supportive Christian community that is at the heart of this ministry.

We are grateful to our many generous friends who continue to support the work of Casa Ursulina. To learn more about Casa Ursulina, look for our web site under the “Ministries” tab on this page.
