Proclaiming Jesus through education and Christian formation.

Welcome to our Website.  We are so happy you have chosen to learn more about our religious community.  As Congregational Leader, I have the privilege of greeting so many people here at the Mount, our Motherhouse.  I am happy to greet you and tell you about our community.  I hope you will find all the information you need as you search our pages.

We came to Mount Saint Joseph from Louisville, KY, on a flatboat on the Ohio River in 1874 but our history started over 482 years ago in a small town in Italy called Brescia.  St. Angela Merici called together women who prayed and worked to serve the people of her time.  We continue to serve today and share our mission of education and Christian formation.  We serve in eight states and in Chile, South America.  We believe that by offering education in the many areas we serve, we will be sharing the mission of Jesus Christ to share the Good News.

We hope you enjoy the information you find on these pages.  You will meet several of our Sisters who tell their vocation stories. If you are searching for your vocation in life and you think you are being called to the religious life, please give us a call.  Sister Monica Seaton, our vocation Director, will answer your questions.  We do believe our life has much to offer.

You are always welcome to pray with us in the prayer section or if you are close to the Mount, you are always welcome to pray with us.  You can also pray with us on Facebook.  The Sisters at the Mount pray for you every day.

Please enjoy the publications that are printed here and if you would like to become a part of our mission as an associate or donor, please don’t hesitate to call.  We will be happy to answer your questions and share the information you need.  Thank you for your visit.

God bless you and those you love.
