For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward God, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.
–Saint Therese of Lisieux
I can appreciate Saint Therese’ expression of prayer, as I find myself turning to God very frequently crying out to the SOURCE OF LOVE for assistance with difficulties and trials or in gratitude for an experience of joy. There is a pattern to this surge of the heart which assures me that God is always faithful– always steadfast in accepting who I am and helping me to accept whatever I am dealing with on a daily basis. In a moment of quiet prayer I feel connected with my God. This is prayer.
