To celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life as chosen by Pope Francis, Ursuline Sister Mary Matthias Ward is bringing in speakers each Friday for a month to talk about consecrated life. Sister Mary Matthias is director of local community life at the Motherhouse.
The first speaker was Sister Mary Elizabeth Miller, a Sister of Charity of Nazareth, Ky., who spoke April 24 on the topic, “Wake Up the World, Choose Life.” Sister Mary Elizabeth has multiple master’s degrees and is a former president of her community. She spent several months in India until February.
Additional speakers will be at Maple Mount on May 1, May 8 and May 15. All of the talks will be recorded and shared on the Ursuline YouTube channel.
