Prayers were answered, as the 44th annual Mount Saint Joseph Barbecue Picnic turned out to be a beautiful, sunny day, and the turnout of attendees broke records! We don’t have a good way of getting an exact count, but there were lots and lots of visitors, and every last bit of barbecue was eaten before the event had ended.
There were lots of smiles to be seen as people of all ages enjoyed shopping, playing games, seeing friends, bidding on silent auction items and trying to win raffle prizes such as an appliqued quilt and $500 worth of gift cards from various restaurants.
Here are the winners of the grand raffle prizes, day quilt and Meals Galore:
Judy Sims, Benton, KY – $10,000
Pattie Logsdon, Bowling Green, KY – Two-year lease on Toyota Corolla
Dorothy Guter, Paducah, KY – $1,000
Brenda Sloan, Louisville, KY – Quilt
Lucy Hancock Neal, Owensboro, KY – $500
Beth Crafton, Henderson, KY – $250
Wanda Rickard, Central City, KY – $100
Margie Alexander, Louisville, Ky – Day Quilt
Lori Hall, Owensboro, KY – Meals Galore
If you could not be here, we hope you enjoy the pictures, and we hope to see you at next year’s Picnic!

I enjoyed these pictures so much. Boy, what an undertaking. It’s hard to imagine the hard work and coordination it took to get this pulled together. Just FYI: In the 7th picture, the caption “The lady on the far right was taught by the Ursuline Sisters.” She is Sister June Monaghan, who attended Mount Saint Joseph High School. She is a Sister of Charity of Nazareth. She is a sister of Sister Michael Ann Monaghan, also in the picture. (My aunts)
